following brief history of *Naborr is reprinted from the Tom
Chauncey Sale III Catalogue. Please remember that it was
written in late 1981; therefore, many more championships
have since been won by direct sons and daughters of
*Naborr.
Born April 13, 1950, *Naborr (born Nabor) was bred by Tersk Arabian Stud in Russia. His sire was the Naseem son, Negatiw, and he was out of Lagodna.*Naborr was Reserve Champion Stallion at the 1954 Moscow horse show, while his sire, Negatiw, was selected Champion that same year. Sold to Poland, *Naborr became the chief sire, producing 61 offspring. Of this total, 15 stallions, 14 mares and two geldings were sold abroad. His daughters became prized broodmares in the Polish breeding program. |

*Naborr was sold to American breeder Anne McCormick in 1963, only after Poland acquired his sire, Negatiw, from Russia. While at the McCormick ranch, *Naborr sired 79 foals. Upon her death, the terms of Mrs. McCormick's estate demanded that all the horses be sold at public auction.October, 1969, *Naborr was purchased by Tom Chauncey. Before his death in November 1977, *Naborr produced 159 sons and daughters while at Tom Chauncey Arabians, the first being Kaborr+++, born in 1970. |
*Naborr has made an impressive mark upon the Arabian breed throughout the world. In the United States alone, *Naborr has 363 registered foals. Of these, 88 different offspring have a combined total of 890 Championships, both in Halter and Performance. Among these Championships are 72 U.S. National Championships and 57 Canadian National Championships. Approximately 25% of *Naborr's offspring in the United States are champions.*Naborr son, *Aramus, was U.S. and Canadian National Champion Stallion, as well as U.S. National Champion Formal Driving and Canadian National Champion Park. *Naborr daughter, *Dornaba, was U.S. and Canadian National Champion Mare, in the same year. The *Naborr son Riffle was U.S. and Canadian National Champion Formal Driving, and also U.S. National Champion Formal Combination.*Naborr sired two sons who were to become Champions at the Salon du Cheval in Paris: *Dardir, who was International Champion Stallion in 1973, and Kaborr+++, who was Champion Stallion of Europe in 1979.*Naborr offspring have won at least one Championship in 42 different states, Canada and the District of Columbia.Among the first ten stallions to receive the coveted Legion of Supreme Merit (+++), two are *Naborr sons: Kaborr+++ and The Phoenician+++. |
